In this comprehensive lecture, Dr Prabhus Nesargikar outlines the principles of bloodless surgery in emergencies, which result in better clinical outcomes.
Dr Nesargikar is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, an accomplished surgeon with MA in Medical Education, currently working in HCG Hospital, Bangalore, India. His surgical skills include, Oesophago-Gastric Surgery (including laparoscopic approaches), Gastrointestinal Cancer and Peritoneal Cancer, Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery, Minimally invasive surgery including Hernias, Complex Abdominal wall Reconstruction (AWR), Emergency and Trauma Surgery. His endoscopic skills include EMR and ESD, POEM for achalasia, Combined Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgery (CELS), Diagnostic Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy, Therapeutic Endoscopy (Stents, Dilatations, Bleeding management). He has several publications in peer reviewed journals, and has won several awards. Dr Nesargikar is a member of several professional societies including Association of Upper GI Surgeons, UK (AUGIS), and Association of Surgeons of India (ASI). He has a special interest in Bloodless Surgery, in which he uniformly records outstanding success.
