MEDIZIN - Supporting patients tolerance of anaemia with compassion (Kelly Johnson Arbor MD) (2023)



One the pillars of Bloodless Medicine (WHO's 3rd pillar of PBM) is "supporting the patient's tolerance of anaemia".  Dr Kelly Johnson, in a lively lecture explains how this can be done with compassion in Bloodless Medicine.

Kelly Johnson-Arbor MD, FCEP, FUHM, FACMT is board certified in Emergency Medicine, Medical Toxicology, and Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine. Currently, she serves as the medical director of hyperbaric medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, where she maintains medical toxicology and hyperbaric medicine clinics, and regularly teaches medical toxicology and hyperbaric medicine topics to third- and fourth-year medical students, residents, and pharmacology students. She is an associate faculty member of the MedStar Institute for Quality and Safety (MIQS) and International Training Center for Bloodless Medicine & Surgery. Dr Johnson-Arbor is an instructor for introductory hyperbaric medicine courses, has authored multiple published medical articles on toxicology and hyperbaric medicine related topics, and enjoys speaking on these subjects as well. Her current research interests include the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in the bloodless medicine population. Dr Johnson-Arbor is a member of the Society for the Advancement of Patient Blood Management, among many other professional societies.
