MEDIZIN - Bloodless renal dialysis (Obed Aidoo BPharm MPSGh) (2023)



Blood transfusion is bad news in renal disease and may complicate possible future renal transplant.  Obed Aidoo, BPharm, MPSGh sheds some light on how bloodless renal dialysis is possible, and better.

Obed is a board-certified pharmacist and a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana. He has worked as pharmacist in-charge of Sonotech Medical and Diagnostic Centre, Accra Ghana. He then worked as the Clinical Administrator at Lena House Clinic, Tema, Ghana, where he was involved in instituting PBM and Bloodless Medicine and Surgery (BMS) protocols. He was also directly involved in providing patient care especially to those who wanted to avoid the use of allogeneic blood transfusion. 

He has been involved in research into BMS and published in the Ghana Pharmaceutical Journal. He is currently (May 2023)  studying for Masters degree in Public Health in Torrens University, Sydney, Australia with interests in medical research, integration of public health into clinical care, development of strategies and protocols for training healthcare professionals in BMS.
