Bloodless medicine education is an ethical obligation for clinicians, Dr Jameela Sathar argues in this interesting talk highlighting the experience from Malaysia.
Dr Sathar is a Consultant Haematologist and former Head of Department of Haematology at Ampang Hospital, Malaysia where she is responsible for the care for patients with thalassaemia, haemophilia, thrombosis and bleeding disorders. She was instrumental in developing a national thalassaemia and haemophilia programs to improve the care of these patients in Malaysia.
Dr Sathar is also actively involved in promoting patient blood management programs to optimise patient outcomes, and she is the current President of the Malaysian Patient Blood Management Society (MyPBM).
